This is excellent timing. I was just discussing with someone today about the possibility of my dad being a covert narcissist instead of borderline personality disordered. My verdict? YES, absolutely! No doubt in my mind now. I do see some of these traits in myself but with the following exceptions: 1. I do not guilt trip nor manipulate. I am so hyper aware of people having done this to me that I don’t allow it in my life from others or from myself 2. I am not dramatically promoting myself as a victim you should feel sorry for. I am actually so scared that I may come across as doing this that sometimes it inhibits my writing, but no. I’m not sharing to get any particular reaction other than to share me. 3. I do not think I am more special than others. I often don’t feel like I fit in, but I not more special than others. In sum, I AM NOT MY DAD. Phew, thank goodness!

    1. Thank you Lucky Otter! Richard Grannon / Spartan Life Coach is amazing & is full of knowledge about this subject! He’s absolutely great & I’m honored to feature him as one of the Narcissism Experts. Yes, Covert Narcissists are especially tricky! He’s got another one which is very good on Covert Narcissists that I’ll be posting soon.
